IMO 2026 Challenge

The International Mathematical Olympiad is the most prestigious competition for high schoolers, and this year it's being held in Shanghai (in fact, it's still underway as I write this).

We have now released this challenge where you'll find the 6 problems the contestants faced a few days ago. They're hard, even by modern IMO standards, but a few of them are genuinely beautiful.

Take your time with them, and enjoy the struggle ;)

New Features: Dedicated Chats Menu Item & Notifications Bell

As of some time ago there is a new dedicated menu item for your chats, specifically designed to help you track your flags and teachers' responses! Finally... (we ourselves are happy about this, sadly we may have responded too late to some of the flags)

This update pairs perfectly with another update: the notification bell in the top-right corner that allows you to stay updated on discussions regarding your submissions or announcements like this one.

If you encounter any issues or have feedback, please reach out to us on Discord, there is definitely at leat one thing to fix :)

Next two challenges: Friendly duo and Tougher Trio

The next two challenges are now live (you can find them on the competitions page as always), each running for a few weeks! As before, one is on the friendlier side, i.e. accessible to anyone with middle school math knowledge, and one is tougher, requiring some olympiad-style problem-solving experience. Good luck!

Challenges Every Few Weeks Moving Forward

Since the EMO mirror, we've been working on a few things: improving the UI and adding backend functionality. We'll share more details on the latter later, but in the meantime check out the new dashboard and stats page, which now features an XP curve among other things. Feedback is welcome!

All that said, good problems are important. We're ready to commit to publishing 4-5 problems every few weeks, starting today.

Half will fall under a new category: Friendly Challenges
The other half under Hard Challenges (formerly just "Challenges")

The goal is to have something for everyone, from middle school all the way to IMO-level and university students.

#partnership #mirror

1st European Mathematical Olympiad 🤝 Online Mirror at Quanta

The first ever European Mathematical Olympiad (EMO) is happening April 23-29 in Vilnius, Lithuania, and we've partnered with the EMO to bring an online mirror to Quanta so anyone can join in around the time the real competition will happen!

Sign up for each of the rounds of the competition on the competitions page here.

EMO 2026 (emo2026.lt) gathers high schoolers from 19 European countries for this competition that will provide them with high-level preparation for the International Mathematical Olympiad.

Join the mirror versions:

Day 1: Sat, Apr 25 at 10:30 UTC (13:30 Lithuania time)
Day 2: Sun, Apr 26 at 10:30 UTC (13:30 Lithuania time)

Both days run for 4.5 hours, both have 4 problems, same as the live competition.

Submissions will get auto-graded by Quanta's LLM-based model, giving participants near-immediate feedback on your reasoning. You'll also earn XP for meaningful progress, and even upgrade your ELO rating if enough people join.

Please note: this online mirror is for practice purposes only. Results are not official and are in no way representative of performance in the live competition.

#olympiads #mocks

EGMO 2026

Happy to provide you an opportunity to try mock EGMO 2026 live, an event that only 4 girls from each country can actually attend.

As you probably know, the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad is among the world's foremost mathematics competitions for high school students, and the largest dedicated exclusively to women. Since its debut in 2012 with just 19 countries, EGMO has grown remarkably, now bringing together:

60 countries
250 contestants
500 people

The day 1 problems are now live, and the day 2 ones will be live tomorrow once we get a hold of them. Neither will affect your (ELO-based) rating, but you can get some experience points. Good luck!
